Bringing Fresh, Sustainable, and Local Produce to our Community.
St. Louis Indoor Produce (SLIP) is a hydroponics facility that grows leafy greens, berries and herbs right in the heart of the city. Hydroponics is an innovative indoor solution to farming that grows produce without the use of soil. Imagine growing basil, chives, mustard greens, red leaf lettuce, strawberries, kale, etc. to meet year-round demand at a faster rate than traditional farming in a chemical-free environment -- food that is delivered locally and fresh to St. Louis markets while using less water in production and less greenhouse gases in delivery. SLIP's goal is to repurpose and transform existing abandoned infrastructure in Saint Louis into urban farms, eliminating the need to outsource produce and conserving natural resources and space. All this to ultimately create the most sustainable farming practices possible and bring an end to food deserts.
